Lost ability to stream audio (only) with Mini running 10.14.6 and iTunes 12.9.5.5

I have a Mini running 10.14.6 and iTunes 12.9.5.5. For *years* I have streamed audio from this set-up to an APTV. I am on the same network. I cab see the device. I can mirror my display. I can stream audio to the APTV from an iPad. There are no user restrictions. (in other words I've done *all* the trouble shooting)

However, whenever I try to stream audio from the computer to the APTV I get:

"Could not connect to "Family Room"

"The AirPlay device “Family Room” cannot be selected for audio output. Please verify your network settings and AirPlay configuration or select another device."

Yes, I have verified all the settings and configurations, etc. etc. etc.

This started with some recent update, probably on the APTV, a few weeks ago.

So ... WTF, mates?

Mac mini, macOS 10.13

So the fix for my situation: Dante Via causes problems with Airplay audio streaming. I had Dante installed at home as a test configuration for a project at work.

Given that Via is also an audio streaming protocol ( a *very* good one) I suppose there is some sense to this but It's not clear why the problem existed when I had not selected Via as the audio device. Something to do with sample rate maybe? Dante wants to run at 48KHz.
