Photo Library Size Discrepency

I setup a new MBP (Catalina) for my wife. She downloaded her iCloud Photo Library. I noticed the Photos Library file in Finder says 146GB but in the cloud it says 320GB being used by Photos. So I went into the Photos Library package and the folder called "originals" is 319GB.

Why is Finder's size column reporting 146GB when there is definitely over 300GB inside that package?

Try reindexing the drive for Spotlight and check the size again: How to rebuild the Spotlight index on your Mac - Apple Support

Next, if needed, boot into Safe Mode (Use Safe Mode to isolate issues with your Mac) and check the size from there. Reboot normally and check again.

NOTE: Safe Mode boot can take up to 10 minutes as it's doing some system cache cleaning, volume verifying and directory repairing.
