iCloud mail deleted on iPhone shows up on macbook

I frequently delete mails/move them to folders in my iCloud account on my iPhone only to find that it hasn’t been synchronized to iCloud.com or my MacBook.

My go-to idea would be that iCloud had been set up like a pop3 instead of imap, but is that even possible and how do I change that on my phone?

I’ve just gotten a new MacBook and the problem occurred after I installed the account on that.

Ideas anyone?

It was solved by logging out of iCloud on my phone and logging in again. Cost me all my cards in Apple Pay but fixed the issue with the iPhone mail app not synchronizing back up to the iCloud server.
