Slow or no internet on Apple Watch when connected to iPhone via bluetooth

When Apple Watch 5 is connected to iPhone SE via bluetooth the internet speed on Apple Watch is slow or there is no internet at all. All notifications are working and everything seems to be ok, except the internet speed. When I disconnect Apple Watch from iPhone for example by turning airplane mode on on iPhone, then the internet on Watch (wifi and cellular) works fine. So is the problem with bluetooth (on Watch or iPhone)? Is it because Watch has bluetooth 5.0 and iPhone SE has bluetooth 4.2?

I have the same issue. Apple watch series 5 and iPhone SE. All internet running through my phone is extremely slow... apple maps will sometimes not even load. As soon as I turn off my phone, and the watch goes through my WiFi directly, things are insanely fast.

Thinking about upgrading my phone but the unknown is worrying me.

I have the same exact issue and its an absolute slug when its connected to an iphone se. Like 75% of the time siri wont even work because the internet is so slow. I discovered this when my iphone died and suddenly my watch was insanely fast. Im not sure why Apple would support iphone se if it's this slow.
