Brand new MBP 16 but this also happened on my older 2014 MBP 15" when updating to Catalina 10.15.1.
My windows go wonky when I go to full screen view, it loses the ability to see the buttons on the tool bar to minimize or close the window, additionally all the other bars become invisible. Anybody know what's going on with this?

That sounds normal. If you slide the cursor to the top of the screen do they show?
Well, partially, the very top bar, with Safari, file View, etc does come up but the favorites bar disappears and I use that a lot. However, I've discovered if I go to view>Exit full screen it brings everything back, and then if go full screen, it seems to have everything I normally expect to see, like the favorites bar and if I run the mouse at the very type, the red, yellow and green little buttons come back. So I guess that's the deal for now. Thanks for your help Eric.
