Hey guys, whenever someone sends me a pic or video on WhatsAPP I am seeing them in the Photos folder, is there any way to prevent this please?

Yes, this can be done by going into the settings for the WhatsApp. I do not use whats app any more so this from memory.
Open WhatsApp > Settings > Data/Storage Usage > Media Auto-Download
Turn this option off.

I am not seeing that exact option. What I am seeing on the Data and Storage Usage screen are Photos, Audio, Videos and Documents tabs each with their options. The Photos options are Never, Wifi and wifi and cellular with the last one being checked, should I change that to NEVER please?
Yes, try setting this to "Never" and then ask a friend to send you a photo to see if it worked.
