Low Windows Storage with fresh bootcamp install?

Please help! Just installed windows 10 bootcamp on the new macbook pro 16. I have 450gb of storage free(512 ssd) and I allowed 100gb for the bootcamp install. When looking at my storage in windows from the fresh install, it says I only have 15gb of storage? This seems wrong, am I missing something? I'm pretty sure windows should not take 85gb?

I used the default settings with bootcamp assistant, dragged the slider to 100gb for windows, and continued. Using os catalina. Installed windows 10 pro.

I recommend you allow 256GB storage for Windows otherwise you will not have sufficient space to save any data or install and run any apps. 100GB is not enough space. Think about it. Would you buy a Windows computer that only had 100GB storage? I doubt you could find a Windows computer with so little storage.

If 100gb allows for only 15 gb of storage in windows, does that mean allowing 256 gb for windows will only leave me with around 40gb of storage? That doesn't seem right because that's very little storage

Two large files - hiberfil.sys and pagefil.sys - are created based on your detected hardware configuration. If you want to know how the disk space is being used, look at https://windirstat.net .
