I received an email telling me my icloud is being removed...is this possible? Or is it a scam

It is a scam, of course. Apple will never send you an unsolicited email. If you receive an email as part of a Support interaction, you will be addressed by name. Apple will never use bad spelling or poor grammar. And Apple will never include a link that goes anywhere but apple.com or itunes.com. If you carefully examine the message, you will probably find that all of the telltale signs I just mentioned are present in your message.
