continued: Can I turn off grouping by date in Finder and also 'Arrange by' and 'Sort by' in ascending and descending order?

when i search files (e.g. documents), apple sorts them into groups by month. not helpful. how do i turn off this sorting so files are simply chronological? No this is not View/sort by date issue.

iMac 21.5", macOS 10.13

Use the grouping button to set the grouping to None.

Set the Sort to date.

If you want to sort descending, switch to List View.
