I have a folder full of images, all different dates, sizes etc.
Im viewing them in icon mode
Ive just discovered you have to hold down OPTIONS key (while pressing the group order button) to change the sort order, is it just me, but I only ever want to change the sort order. Why do we have to remember to hold down another key to get this?
I never use Group Order, I just want to sort stuff. frustrating.
With Icon view in Finder active you can also use Menubar > View > Sort By > and pick the sort order you prefer.

One handy little thing to note: these sort options also include keyboard shortcuts.
Since you use that a lot, they may soon get into muscle memory and save you a lot of time and mouse travelling.

That helps thanks, would have been useful to have a toolbar button for 'sort by', seems obvious.
