My iPod shuffle 2nd gen is connected to a charger of iPod itself through a wall adapter but the iPod just blinks orange light couple of times and then it stops. Tried charging it for 10 hours on laptop and other devices as well, any help??

Most likely this is just the iPod checking in with your computer to see if there is any new content to synchronize. Once it decides there is nothing new to synchronize it will terminate the sync.
