Change finder window background color

Is there a way to change a finder window to a black background and white text in list view in High Sierra? I like the way FCPX uses a black background and white text in the browser, inport window, inspector, etc. Easier on my eyes.

Thanks,

Dennis

In Mojave and Catalina, while in Dark mode, the Finder background is black and the text automatically changes to white text for Dark mode, and black text for Light mode.

In High Sierra, you cannot change the background at all in list view. Though you can change it to black in Icon view (but not the text), upon switching to List view, it reverts to black text on a white background.
