Trade-in for new iPhone

I just bought a new iPhone XR for my daughter for Christmas. I am going to trade in her older iPhone 6plus. I did not realize that I had to return her phone so soon. I was hoping to keep it until Christmas for the surprise and then I can send in the trade-in... otherwise it defeats the purpose of it as a Christmas gift. Can you help me find out how I can get an extension?

Hi there,

I'm not sure whether Apple will grant an extension. The best way to find out would be to contact them.

Although, if they won't, what you could do is pay full price now and trade in her old phone after Christmas.
