Imovie - Ipad

Hi Im tying to use view my photos in iMovie but it doesn't display the full size photo. I have worked out how to change it in iMovie on by desk top but I need to use it on my iPad.

is there a way other than resizing every photo with a large black border then resize it in iMovie to fit the screen and stop the movement?
