iBooks Author - Creating books for personal use only

In my work (aviation) I have a great deal of notes that relate to individual airlines, specifically ticketing information. Is there a way that I can create a book in iBooks Author and then make it available, for my use only, on my iPhone or iPad?

You just compose your book and then do File > Export and email the resulting file to yourself.

You can also do it with Pages, as long as you export to pdf or epub format.
