Install SSD drive in my 7 year old iMac

Hi,

My wonderful iMac 27" (24 RAM) that I use as a graphic designer is now 7 years old, and I noticed the 1TB HD was getting a bit old and cranky. I'm still on Yosemite 10.10.5.

Instead of buying a new iMac that would cost me well over $2k, I had my local Mac tech guy replace the HD with a Samsung SSD 860 EVO 1TB drive. THE DIFFERENCE IN SPEED IS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! Even websites that were slow to load are now loading FAST...

> > > What I'd like to know is HOW DIFFERENT DO I WANT TO MAINTAIN MY NEW DRIVE? I already know defragmentation is a no-no. But I do like to run my Disk Utility every few months to "verify disk" or repair disk permissions. Any other preventive maintenance to perform? Or, again, anything that was OK to do with an HDD, but never on an SDD?

Thanks!

iMac 27", OS X 10.10

There is nothing to do. Just backup and enjoy your iMac's new lease on life!
