How do I find out what the serial number is on my stolen ipad?

Your iPad's serial number can be found on the original purchase receipt or its box.

I purchased this unit as a demo from Fry's. I was handed an iPad with the power supply and cord wrapped around it. They didn't steal something real good. The battery wasn't too good from being plugged in all the time. So I'm going to have to eat this one. I thought there might be a record somewhere for the police report.
