Can not drag a Contacts card into a group mailing list. the "Contracts" manual says that is how to move a card into a group. What is the solution to not being able to drag the card into a group. I'm using Catalina 10.15.1 (which has given me other grief as well).

It still works for me under Catalina.
A Smart Group is a group that is created by meeting search criteria, not by adding things to it. You cannot add things to a Smart Group.
That is the only Group I could find that would not accept dragging and dropping.
Make sure it is not a Smart Group.
After spending some time at Apple Support, I found that if one tries to move a card to a group that already has that card, it won't go in, but if a group does not have that card, it will. I tested this 4 times and those findings were confirmed.
I recently migrated from a MBP running High Sierra to a new MBP running Catalina and I also can no longer drag and drop contacts to groups. I never set up smart groups and double checked - my groups have not been converted to smart groups. I spent about 30 minutes on an Apple chat today and had to drop off. The rep was not familiar with the problem and I was on hold for most of the time. I would appreciate any thoughts. Tx
Understand. And that is how it worked in prior versions for me too. Now I can not move any card from any group to any other group. Nothing
I'm not sure what a Smart Group is, but things worked fine with Yosemite and High Sierra. Only after downloading Catalina in late October did "Contacts" not work correctly.
