Bumping this old post as I am having the same issue as op, have tried everything mentioned in this thread and the other linked one and still have had no success. My problem is exactly the same as op's, I would submit my own pictures but they would essentially be identical to op. Have spent the entire day trying to trouble shoot and really have no idea what to do at this point!

On a 2012 MBP, if you replace the SuperDrive in the Optibay, then


  • Windows cannot be installed on this Optibay slot, but macOS will work.
  • Windows must be installed on the Main bay disk, using a USB2 Flash drive installer, built by BC Assistant.
  • The Optibay disk must be physically disconnected during the installation of Windows. The Optibay can be reconnected, after Windows is fully installed and verified on the Main Bay disk slot.
