Starting about 15 minutes ago my podcasts just suddenly stopped playing in the middle of a podcast. I can start them again and they'll play for about 2 minutes and then they'll stop again. My phone is an iPhone Xr and the software is uptodate. I've checked for software updates and rebooted the phone, etc. It's currently shutting down the podcast (not just pausing, but exiting the podcast app) in less than 90 seconds.

Yep. Same here. Searching through their troubleshooting and tried EVERYTHING. Nothing works and it’s actually worse! Before it would close after 30-60 seconds. Now it barely plays for 5 seconds! Looks like there are users who started having issues as far back as October! Update 12.1.3 broke the app!
I will be changing phones to Android after this !
This same situation just started on the same date on my Iphone 8. Podcast app just closes in the middle of the podcast.
As of this morning (12/9) my podcast is pausing itself every 20sec to 5 min. It annoying. Thought it was my bluetooth headphones failing or shorting, so I turned off bluetooth and just let it play through my phone. Still occurring. Its something with the phone or software. I closed all brower content as well to make sure it wasn't trying to override.
Something seem broken, unsure if there was an update.

I’m losing my mind. I listen to podcasts all the time. I’m trying to work on my remodel of my house. Every 20 seconds to 15 minutes I have to stop to play it again. I’m swearing and shouting. Apple you need to figure your crap out. Im an avid supporter and I’m losing my mind with the his garbage.
Same here. iPhone X. Podcasts stop playing randomly. Never happened before. . I’ve installed latest update, done a hard reset, and deleted and reinstalled Podcasts. Nothing helps.
Same! Called support. They didn’t seem to know what to do beyond the usual troubleshooting. Took forever. Got disconnected. Waiting on follow up.
