ERROR: limitcheck

What is causing this problem?

A pdf produced under Windows will not print from a mac. Instead an error message prints:

OFFENDING COMMAND: imagemask

Now this error is rare. But it happens consistently with files produced by one particular colleague. Is there a bug on their side? Or is there a bug in Apple's Preview app?

Have you tried printing with e.g. Adobe Reader? I did and it did work with out errors. So there seems to be a problem with the Apple Preview app... I don't know if anyone have reported it, or where I would go to report it.
