Euro symbol
I have a 2019 Mac Air and a new magic keyboard. I want to type a euro symbol but get TM with Shift + Alt +2 and nothing with Alt + 2. Any ideas?

May be the used font doesn't contain € character?
Major 'currency symbols' should be standard in a global multiple language macOS.
Some regional priorities place the selector in harder to reach places in the system.
While I seldom afford travel outside the local time zone; most default settings apply here.
To turn on and use Keyboard Viewer in Apple menu bar, is an included-system feature.
You could try & use Keyboard viewer in settings to see which keys do what.
Some keyboards use the Fn key for options, where available.

May be Shift + Alt + 4?
Sadly this doesn't work. I Alt/option + 2 works on the laptop itself but it seems to be the fact that I'm using it via Remote Desktop that causes a problem. Thank you, though!
What are you remoting into?

Are you using an azerty-keyboard? Alt + the € sign just left of the enter key
