Alt keys stopped working on Apple Aluminum Keyboard with Numeric Keypad (USB)

Hi,

Both my Alt keys suddenly stopped working on my Apple Aluminum Keyboard with Numeric Keypad (USB). I tried to delete the plist files for keyboards, reset smc, nothing seems to fix it. Alt keys on the Macbook Pro works fine. I'm on Mojave 10.14.6.

qwertyuio not working on built-in keyboard Dear all, My MacBook Air 'qwertyiou' keys have decided not to work on built-in keyboard. I've had it for 3 years already so no under warranty anymore. What are the possible solutions for this very annoying issue? I am completely dependent on USB keyboard know whcih is working fine. Issue also persist in W10 installed via bootcamp. Keyboard is not detected after upgrading from Catalina to BigSur Hi Experts, I am running an issue with the keyboard when I upgraded Mac OS from Catalina to BigSur. I successfully installed BigSur and after fresh installation it is working fine. Later I have restarted the Mac from then keyboard is not getting detected, I also downgraded from BigSur to Mojave still the issue persists. Let me know if you have any ideas. details - MacBook Pro 2015

If you can try another external keyboard, and the alt keys work on that one, it would indicate possible damage to the original.
