Mouse won't move where I want it to
Why do I have problems with my Bluetooth Magic Mouse when scrolling? Sometimes it just won't move to some parts of the docs I'm working on. It just won't travel in the direction I'm trying to move it.

According to: How to clean your Apple products - Apple Support
"If your Magic Mouse or Magic Mouse 2 isn’t tracking properly, there might be a hair or other debris on the sensor lens. Turn the mouse over and inspect the sensor window using a bright light. If you see debris, use compressed air to gently clean the sensor window."

Check your settings in System Preferences...>Accessibility>Pointer Control...
Also, check System Preferences...>Mouse.
Can you get the mouse to work after a Safe Boot?
Do you have access to a wired mouse, or another Bluetooth mouse? If so, try resetting the mouse in Settings>Bluetooth.
Then I presume you changed the batteries/charged the mouse as appropriate for the device.
Tried the compressed air, no change
I have multiple apps and windows open, could that account for the problem
problem especially when crossing over XL files
I don’t have a back up mouse
charged to 40%
The soft boot made things better
Glad to hear that!
