I have a new MacBook Pro 16" and installed a total of four mailboxes in mail. Since a longer time the status "Moving messages 1 of 2" appears and don't go away at all.

Also, mail get stuck when I want to quit mail and its also impossible to turn off.

Hello captainharry,

Thank you for stopping by Apple Support Communities. From what you've described, you're having trouble with Mail on your Mac. I'd love the chance to help out.

First, try force closing Mail using the steps here: How to force an app to quit on your Mac.

Then, restart your Mac.

If you're still having trouble with Mail, try starting up in safe mode: Use safe mode to isolate issues with your Mac.

If you're still experiencing these issues, test the issue in another user account: How to test an issue in another user account on your Mac.

Take care.
