how to change the duration of multiple clips in the time line from the start of the clip

is there a way to change the duration of multiple clips from the start of the clip

We have multiple clips and need the reduce the duration from the start of clip

however when using control D the duration form the end is reduced not the start

how to change the duration keeping the end point the same

please help

When I change the speed of an edited sequence using Custom Speed, the clips all remains the same length, ruining the edit. Hi. If I edit together a sequence and then decide I need to change the speed, if I select 2x Speed, for example, then the length of all the clips changes proportionately and the edit remains in tact. This used to be the case for Custom Speed too, but I must have accidentally changed a setting. Now, if I change a sequence to Custom Speed, each clip in the sequence changes speed, but remains the same length in time - ruining the edit. I then have to readjust every clip individually. It's driving me mad. Can anyone help please? Thanks.

Changing multiple still durations in timeline I think I am missing something real simple here. Trying to change the duration of multiple stills in timeline. I select multiple stills in timeline, click control D, go to the time window and enter 2.00 hoping to change each still to 2 sec. Hit enter and nothing changes but the curser goes to the 2 sec mark on the time line. Also, in preferences I have the duration set to 2 sec. for stills. When I drag individual clips into the timeline they are 2 sec long. When dragging multiple clips into the timeline they are 10 sec long. Can I drag multiple clips into the timeline and have them all be the still duration set in preferences? Thank you! Andy

Swap clips Is there a way to select 2 clips in the timeline, press a key command and swap them? In other words, they replace each other?

Here is a way:

1) Select the clips

2) Modify->Retime->Reverse Clip

3) Control-D, change duration

4) Modify->Retime->Reverse Clip
