XFinity WiFi Calling
I'd like to start with: We had AT&T and WiFi calling worked perfectly. I don't believe this is an iOS/iPhone issue - just hoping to hear if anybody has better results than me, or find out if there is a fix ro if it is being investigated.
My wife and I had AT&T and switched to XFinity Mobile We both have iPhone XS. When on AT&T WiFI-Calling from this house worked perfectly./ I have a strong internet connection, and AT&T WiFi calling seemed to prefer WiFi over cell. Fast forward to XM. WiFi calling is terrible, drops calls, and reverts to cell calling with as low as 1 bar of service. And even if we have two bars of service, the switch still drops the call.
I work from home. WiFi calling is a must. We get at most 2 bars here, but really it is more like 1, and since switching to XM we get ZERO bars of service.
- I rebooted
- I re-seated my SIM
- I replaced my SIM (from XFinity store)
- I've been told (from XFinity Store) my issue was being sent to a level 2 support manager and I'd be contacted - I've never been contacted
- I've been through the (frankly terrible) online chat support multiple times
NOTHING is fixing the issue. And worse, when it DOES work it stops as soon as I leave home and change networks and get back. I've seen a few people say that for WiFi calling to work for XM you need a good cell signal - which makes zero sense.
We (I have 3 lines) are on month 3 now. I cannot wait to get the visa card to pay off the phone we bought, and move to a new carrier if we have to - I don't WANT to, the deal I'm getting with XM is amazing. I'd really love to see this fixed.
Or acknowledged. Or any forward movement instead of the run around we've all been getting.
Any other iPhone users out there with the same issue?
iPhone X, iOS 13
