Gmail not working on Safari

I just purchased a MacBook Pro 16 inch and like working in Safari (especially because of the Touch Bar), unfortunately Gmail doesn't work at all. Weirdly enough it worked for a few days, and now it doesn't open emails, buttons stop working, the search bar does nothing. It's a really specific issue: all other websites work perfectly fine, just safari. I've tried different wifi networks and the same issue pops up.

As of now, it forces me to use Google Chrome just for gmail, but this just be able to fix.

Hope to hear from someone!

Are you running any anti - virus programs? Using a VPN?

Try setting up another admin user account in System Preferences/Users & Groups to see if the same problem continues. Please post back on whether or not this worked. Also try the Safe Mode. Please post back on whether or not this worked.

If it works in the Safe Mode, try running this program when booted normally and then copy and paste the output in a reply. The program was created by Etresoft, a frequent contributor.  Please use copy and paste as screen shots can be hard to read. Click “Share Report” button in the toolbar, select “Copy to Clipboard” and then paste into a reply. This will show what is running on your computer. No personal information is shown. If the log won’t post, try posting it in Pastebin and provide a link in a reply. After pasting the report in a PasteBin page, go to the top of the page, and copy the address in the URL bar. Paste that in a new reply.        Pastebin

For now, clearing my cache and turning off the two extensions I was using with safari seems to be doing the trick. Gmail seems to running stable now. I would like to continue to use the extensions, so I will try running safari with one of them turned on at a time to see if maybe one of them is causing the issue. Thanks for assisting and for reference, below you can find the extensions I was using (not sure if turning off the extensions was the problem, or clearing the cache):

  • Save to Pocket 1.1
  • Shoptagr extension 1.0.8
