External monitor for MacBook Pro mid-2015

What is a good external 24" to 27" monitor for my mid-2015 MacBook Pro? FHD or UHD? Is there anything else I should look for? Costco has a FHD monitor with good reviews. But will this offer me a good image for my photos, general computer word processing and internet surfing?

The "Mid-2015" MacBook Pro models that have dedicated graphics (MacBookPro11,5) -- the MacBook Pro "Core i7" 2.5 15" (DG) and "Core i7" 2.8 15" (DG) -- support a single external display up to 5120x2160 at 60 Hz via Thunderbolt 2. Via HDMI video output, it also can support a single 1080p display at up to 60 Hz or 3840x2160 at 30 Hz or 4096x2160 at 24 Hz.

At this point it's really a question of which aesthetic you like. I can tell you to stay away from AOC, which I'm reading great reviews of (possibly spamming reviewers with 'demo' units they don't need to return)

Samsung has always had a good product IMHO, some swear by viewsonic which I don't like.

A display really needs to be seen - and preferably seen in a setting similar to where you'll use it. For example, I have a 28" LG 4K display which I really like (except that base which I replaced with a generic Amazon VESA base) my wife doesn't like it. She says she can see flicker. OTOH we both agree that her 24" Dell UltraSharp display is to die for but I didn't want to shell out that kind of money for a display. (By the way, the UltraSharp moniker doesn't guarantee a great display anymore.)
