Boot Camp partition not mounting

I can no longer boot into my Windows 7 Boot Camp partition. I had created a third partition for installing Mountain Lion to test some old software so maybe that's the reason? How do I get back into Win7 Boot Camp?

Rebuild MBR to match the new GPT information thus resetting the Hybrid MBR. Use defaults for other questions (like partition codes). The only values that need modifications are the Boot flags and step 10. Accept all other defaults that Gdisk offers. Please see thesample Q&A as an example. These steps can be repeated if you make a mistake before you get to Step 12, otherwise start from Step 1 for these steps. Step 6 has numbers which are typed with a space between the numbers. Please see the sample Q&A before you execute these steps.

  1. Sudo gdisk /dev/rdisk0
  2. P (Print list of parts)
  3. R (Recover)
  4. O (print current Hybrid MBR)
  5. H (chooses Hybrid)
  6. Partitions numbers to be hybridized: 2 3
  7. Y (Good for GRUB question)
  8. N (part 2 boot flag)
  9. Y (part 3 boot flag make NTFS bootable partition)
  10. O (print current Hybrid MBR)
  11. W (Write the new MBR)
  12. Y (Yes! write the new MBR)
  13. Reboot

Here is sample Q&A for this section. Please notice the Press Enter/Return.

Place EFI GPT (0xEE) partition first in MBR (good for GRUB)? (Y/N): Y

Creating entry for GPT partition #2 (MBR partition #2)
Enter an MBR hex code (default AF): Press Enter/Return
Set the bootable flag? (Y/N): N

Creating entry for GPT partition #3 (MBR partition #3)
Enter an MBR hex code (default 07): Press Enter/Return
Set the bootable flag? (Y/N): Y

If you are asked about additional space, say 'N' and continue.

Disk Utility:

Applying changes to "APPLE SSD SM0512F Media"

(Running operation 1 of 1: Remove "Mountain Lion HD"...

"The volume /dev/disk0s2 appears to be OK"

Progress bar is fully blue

MBA is unresponsive. Mouse pointer can move but nothing clicked with it does anything..

Also I can see that the time in the Mac status bar is frozen at 8:26PM. (It is now 9:57 PM)

I'll leave the MBA on the desk in this state until notified with further instructions.... I can't even turn down the brightness.

How long will this take? I remotely logged in to the MBA to start this and since 11:45 AM ET the MBA is listed as offline. I tried to copy and paste what I was seeing on terminal but that's when the remote session booted me off. Presumably because this is an resource intensive operation that has overwhelmed the MBA's ability to accept remote connections? (Teamviewer and Chrome Remote Desktop have failed) Should I just wait for remote connect-ability to return or is there something wrong that requires me to return on site?

Dec 15, 2019 10:50 AM in response to Loner T

Okay I've returned to site and the MBA screen is in the same state as when I was booted off remotely.

F1, F2 brightness controls do not respond.

Caps lock lights on/off green when pressed.

I don't see a mouse pointer when I swish around the trackpad.

I can't copy paste so I will manually type what I see in the dim terminal window. 15.0% is where it was at at 11:45 AM ET when I was booted out of remote.

So MBA appears to be frozen? Power off manually? Wait?

MBA was powered off when I returned to site this morning. Powered on. Here's the output of diskutil list. Rebooting with option key held down results in black screen with spinning grey wheel icon. Rebooting with command-R press leads to recovery mode. Running first aid on Macintosh HD in recovery mode.
