iOS 13 causing Intune deployed WiFi profile to authenticate with wrong credentials

We have many devices deployed via Microsoft Intune. Our Hidden SSID corporate WiFI uses a root certificate and a Username/Password combo for authentication. Since upgrading a few devices to iOS 13, the WiFi profile will prompt as expected on first connection for the user credentials. You enter them and connect successfully. After the device sleeps for a short while, you leave the proximity of the network and then return or you power cycle the device, it attempts to connect with the Intune User ID instead of the user ID that was entered upon first connection. No Single Sign On configurations exist in Intune and Microsoft has confirmed the profile is deploying correctly. They state that iOS appears to be overwriting the user credentials. You can type the settings into 'Other networks' and connect once, the connection merges with the existing profile, but the same thing happens when it sleeps, you leave and comes back or the device power cycles. Anyone else seeing the same behavior? iOS 12 devices work perfectly, as do all Android devices. It affects both iOS13 and iPadOS 13 devices.

Hello Sycamore_No_More,

Thanks for posting. As I understand it, you're finding that managed devices running iOS 13 are having issues with Wi-Fi connectivity until the devices are restarted. Is that right?

Knowing that you've contacted Microsoft already is helpful.

To double-check, are you using iOS 13.3 on the devices in question? If not, it may be worth trying to update and then test one of the devices: How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch and Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

It could also help to try a reset of the network settings on one device and then test it. Here's how: If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch won’t connect to a Wi-Fi network

"Still can’t connect?

Reset your Network Settings. Tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. This also resets Wi-Fi networks and passwords, cellular settings, and VPN and APN settings that you’ve used before."

If the issue persists, you'll want to Contact Apple Support next. Take care.
