Seems others have the same issue. I was going to un-install everything and reload my things. It doesn't look like any others have done that. Does that seem to be a fix? Are they working on an update to this problem

I downloaded Catalina and all my problems went away. First I got rid of all junk files and attached photos that were taking up room. No more bouncing ball and Message doesn’t hang anymore
messages running very slow and I have the bouncing ball on Mojave
