Safari/Yahoo Issue

OK, (I may one of two people with a Yahoo Home Page); the issue is when opening a Yahoo News item from the Yahoo Home Page, a new window opens with the headline & text but no other extraneous links) E.G. .yahoo.com/news/....). It's not possible to go 'back' to the Yahoo Home Page using the Back Arrow; however, by placing the cursor at the upper right hand corner of the headline & text page and selecting enter/return , the the standard news link appears. Is there some setting in Safari or is there some virus at work. This only occurs when selecting something from the Home Page. Obviously, I can use another home page (which I am doing), but would like to solve this issue. Any input out there?

Eric; made sure the box was unchecked; no difference. But in Preferences, Privacy, I removed all tracking cookies and theat seems to have addressed the issue.
