Attempts to scan QR code displayed on iPhone auto launches Apple Pay/Wallet

When you have a QR code sent to your iPhone via an App - say a train ticket - when you go to a QR code scanner to scan your ticket iOS auto launches Apple Wallet and thus blocks the ability to scan the QR code.

This can be especially frustrating and a huge problem if you need a QR code scanned when you’re in line to exit or enter a train station and the turnstile requires the code to open a door.

This is a fatal bug and MUST be fixed.

Hello and welcome to Apple Support Communities,

I see that you have a question regarding QR codes. I'd be happy to help.

If the QR codes that you're receiving are being stored in the Wallet, this would be expected behavior.

Use your passes in Wallet on iPhone

You could also take a screenshot of the QR code and then access it from your Photos app.

You may also want to provide your feedback about the behavior here: https://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html

Hope this helps.

Have a great day!
