iMovie 10.1.14 constantly crashing and not responding.

Hi, I'm running iMovie 10.1.14 on macOS Catalina Version 10.15.2 and every time I try to perform a simple action after it opens, I get the constant spinning wheel. Even if I leave it for a few minutes, nothing happens and I have to go to Force Quit where it is constantly listed as 'not responding'. Help! It used to work perfectly fine.

MacBook Air 13", macOS 10.15

Try booting up in Safe Mode (see Finder help instructions) and, after everything loads, immediately shut down and reboot in normal mode. That might clear out conflicts that may be causing the crashing issue.

You could also try redownloading iMovie. To do that drag your present iMovie app out of the Applications folder and into the trash, but don't empty the trash. Then sign in to the app store and open your account by clicking on your name at the bottom of the app store side bar. You will see a list of your purchases, including iMovie. You can redownload it from there. If for some reason the download is unavailable or unsuccessful, drag your old iMovie app out of the trash and put it back into the Applications folder.
