Can not send sms to one number

I am suddenly unable to send text messages to one contact. He can send me messages, but when I reply or send him a message, I get a message saying "Not Delivered" I can call him.

I am able to send text messages to anyone else. He checked his blocked numbers, and mine is not among them

Hi mahmood164,

You've done a great job troubleshooting this issue. Try quitting the Messages app following these steps: How to force an app to close on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.

Once it's closed, restart your iPhone with these steps: Restart your iPhone.

After restarting, launch Messages, and try again with your contact. If the issue persists, delete the contact from your iPhone, then add their information back in, try sending a message again. If you're still unable to send only to this contact, verify with your carrier that there is no "block" in place from the carrier side. Because this is only occurring with an SMS message, it's going through your carrier's network. The iMessage messages go through the Apple network. This article will give you more information about the 2 types of messages: About iMessage and SMS/MMS.

Enjoy the day!

Hello mahmood164,

Thanks for reaching out to the Apple Support Communities! I understand your SMS messages are not being delivered to one of your contacts.

You've done a nice job troubleshooting so far by checking to see if your number is one of the blocked numbers on your friend's phone. The next thing to do is to follow the steps under, "If you see a red exclamation point," in this article: If you can't send or receive messages on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

All the best!

Hello mahmood164,

Thanks for clarifying that the issue is isolated to one contact. Have you tried starting a new conversation with the one contact? Are you able to receive messages they send to you? If you can not, and they're not located in the same region, you'll both want to verify you can send and receive international SMS.

Also, check and see if this is occurring from all locations, or only from certain ones.

Cheers!
