Disney Plus

Do I have to replace my 2nd gen Apple TV in order to access Disney Plus service? Also in order to access Disney Plus on a gen 4 A-TV will I then also be required to subscribe to Apple TV +??

1/ Yes. Is Apple TV supported on Disney+? - Disney+ Help Center

2/ No. Apple TV+ is completely separate from Disney+. You can have either one without the other, or both, or neither one.

Worth noting that while there is no requirement to subscribe to Apple + that hardware upgrade would entitle you to a free year of their service so if you were at all interested you would be able to try it out.
