Boot Camp Assistant has encountered a problem An internal error has occurred.

Have a new 2019 iMac, Catalina 10.5, did the Boot Camp Assistant routine on a

Samsung X5 500. VMWare to install Win 10 pro. Doesnt recognize the drive.

Thats another story

Uninstalled VMW and erased the X5 drive to start over.

Run BCA, "Boot Camp Assistant has encountered a problem An internal error has occurred."

Tried restarting and it's a no go, same message. What to do?

How would I be able to fix Boot Camp Assistant?

Thank you

Ronnie

ps: it's been years since I last used a mac

iMac 27", macOS 10.15

Thanks for the reply LT

Lol... so i've noticed from the start.

I was following this video:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=19&v=kR28kVtZYJY&feature=emb_logo

D/L'd VMW, W2Usb & Win10... yes i understand the video is a lil old

Went well until VMW says to restart to recognize the drive. The X5 drive didnt appear.

So I fig'd maybe start over and got the BCA error notice.

The main problem is is BCA, I still get the error.

How to fix BCA? Do I reinstall Catalina??

Strange.... BCA started up fine. Went to store and came back

tried it and it worked. The Win2USB is not usable in free mode

for Win 10 Pro.

I tried again w/ the SS T5 500tb this trip USB/TB cord

Earlier was SS X5 500tb w/ thunder bolt cord

Neither of them work... heres the list thing

Lol, is there? I honestly dont know.

Given a few days here I've reread your replies and it makes sense.

You know what you're saying and keeping me from trouble. I see that.

Should I want to have Win10 installed I should just put it

on the imac w/ BCA? Wondering if it would work better

w/ Artcam/Carveco, Rhino, Fusion360, Solidworks...

3D stuff. No gaming.

Btw, the chin on this iMac scraped my knuckles.

Sharp edges

Thanks LT, I appreciate it.

OK... success!

I believe all went well. 500gb for Win10

Followed procedures and all seems pretty good.

Lost the keyboard during the Winstall so had to get a cord board

That went ok, forgot about mac so I went to reboot later on I got this message

I pressed the Z key and it just beeps. Other than that the keyboard works but

cannot identify.

Do you have more than one keyboard connected when you try to Identify the keyboard?

Well... Coming from mac to reboot to windows I lose the kb.

No, just the lgitech mx 3 mouse.

I tried the bluetooth repairing, nothing. I connected back the usb kb

to get things to work. Maybe I just get a new keyboard for both OSs?

Would I have the same problems? Thinking of getting the Logitech mx keys kb.

Supposedly to work w/ both OSs.

Not too crazy for the mac kb.
