Can someone please help me deregister my old phone number from iMessage/facetime? The phone number associated with it is actually the number that came with my new simcard which I no longer have access to because I ported over my old number.

The phone number associated with it is actually the number that came with my new simcard which I no longer have access to because I ported over my old number. I can add a "contactable at" number but can't remove the original, and it's something that I never even added it's just gone on there automatically when I changed sims. It's really infuriating. I've followed all the instructions I can find on here and on the apple website, including changing my password, signing out, resetting network settings, turning off phone.... Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the reply Eric.

On my phone when I tap settings > Apple ID > Name, Phone Numbers, Email ... under the "contactable at" section it's got my Apple ID email, the phone number I don't want (labelled as iMessage & FaceTime number), and my current phone number under that. When I hit the edit button, it allows me to edit the other two but not the "iMessage & FaceTime" number (which shows up with a little "i" info thing which tells me to deregister to remove. But there the loop ends, I can't deregister it.
