Dark Mode & Terminal Profile

Hi,

I'm having a very frustrating issue with the terminal when OS X switches to dark mode. Terminal font is black by default on a white background but when the dark mode is switched on automatically, font color changes to white but the background stays the same. I'm tired of switching manually every time the OS X theme changes so I turned off auto switching light/dark mode. It's been this way since this feature came out.

Open new window with a selected profile settings also has no effect. No matter what profile I pick, terminal opens only in default profile. Does Apple have any intention to address any of these problems?
