I bought this Apple tablet and is locked

Is any way I can contact the owner if I give you the serial no of the tablet.if this tablet was stolen from him and I end up buying it from someone else I would like to return it but I got no way of contacting the original owner.Thank you

Given tablet My issue is someone gave me a tablet. They told me the battery was dead. I had it sitting for a while so I decided to plug it in. Almost 3 days had gone by and it turned on. With this new found info. I had switched jobs and tracked down the owner. I asked them if they would like it back. In which we started making plans to return it. I have been trying to either return or have them unlock it from their apple account. It’s such a waste and can probably be used on both sides. The other party just doesn’t seem interested. And the unit is about to go in the trash. Is it possible to que the original owner some how? I think she’s lazy and wouldn’t go through the trouble of signing in and unlocking it for me. I have asked for an address and offered to ship it. I am just bummed out it’s sitting here.

use ipad bought at estate sale bought this ipad at estate sale but can't make it work. I guessed the owners i.d. from letters that were listed but don't know the password and I guess it has been locked. I found the serial number on the back but have no proof of purchase. Should I just throw this away?

Pawned tablet So, an iPad (4th gen) was pawned while locked. Any idea how to unlock it, not knowing who the previous owner was?

It's a common issue. Unfortunately, there's no way to contact the original owner if it is activation locked. Turn it over to the local police.

Nothing you can do, sorry. Next time buy an iPad from Apple Directly and not used.
