Apple TV problem

I subscribed to the Apple TV app. I can see movies on my computer and iPad, but I cannot see them on my TV. Do I have to buy the box to stream to my TV?

Hello,

Just so I am understanding you correctly, you subscribed to Apple TV+ and you downloaded the Apple TV application on your television? Are you certain you are using the Apple TV application on your TV? Can you elaborate more on what you mean by “nothing happens”?

Here is a list of all TV models that support the Apple TV application.

Apple TV app - Devices - Apple

If you TV is not on this list then you will need the physical Apple TV 4K or Apple TV HD device.

Hello,

Can you please elaborate more on what you mean by “I subscribed to the Apple TV app”? Are you referring to Apple TV+? Apple TV+ and the Apple TV application are two entirely different entities. Apple TV+ only includes Apple’s original TV shows and movies, not Apple’s entire iTunes Movie catalog.

I bought the Apple TV+ app. When I click on the Apple TV app on my television, nothing happens. But, I can see movies and shows on the Apple TV app on my computer. Do I have to buy the Apple TV box to watch on my television? I am a total amateur when it comes to this

The Apple TV logo appears on my TV, but no Apple content shows up on my screen.

When I click on the he Apple TV app it shows all the channels I receive

from my Comcast account. And, my TV is on the list of TV's that are supported.

After doing more digging, I believe that my TV is not compatible. I really appreciate your help, and time. I am ordering the Apple TV box. I hope that solves the problem.
