Reset Network Settings does not work

Today, my phone has been unable to connect to a cellular network. I can browse the internet and text when connected to my wifi at home, but cannot call. No connection at all when I'm out, just an endless "searching." The phone told me I needed to install the iOS update for it to work, which I had not done for a bit. During the install, it stopped and told me that it failed. However, now when I look to install again, it says I am up to date. Despite all of this, I am still unable to connect to a cellular network and now have no way to update the phone.

The most common example seems to be Reset Network Settings. When I click this option in my settings app on my phone, the app crashes and I am unable to proceed. I also tried forcing it to update through plugging it into my PC, but it says there are no new updates and I am unable to. Please help.

Hello, MKR2752!

Thank you for visiting the Apple Support Communities. If I understand correctly, you are unable to make calls. While troubleshooting, you attempted to Reset your Network Settings, but the Settings app crashed. You also, cannot update your iOS. I am happy to help you find a resolution.

First, please complete the steps shown, here : If you can't make or receive calls on your iPhone

If you are still unable to make calls, we have some additional questions.

  • Which iPhone model are you using?
  • Which iOS version are you using?
  • Are you able to receive calls?
  • Have you contacted your carrier to ensure that all is well on their end?

Please let me know, and we’ll go from there.

Warmly!
