Mail receives messages but can't view them

After having trouble with Mail in 10.15.1, I just upgraded to 10.15.2 to see if some of those issues were resolved.

While I can see the brief 2-line message preview in Mail, when I click on the message to view the entire message, Mail seems to hang on a "Loading ..." message and will not allow me to view my message. This persists even when double-clicking to open a new window for the message. It will also indicate that the message has been read, even though I have been unable to see it.

Looks like I'm sticking with Mojave (10.14.6). Would love for Apple to fix this, but Catalina has been out for a while now, and one of their key apps (and I would regard Mail as mission-critical) is still a failure for me.

Discussions went down briefly - in that time, I restarted Mail and it seems to be functioning, albeit there is still a problem with Rules (e.g., I have a rule that is supposed to take an advertisement, move it and mark it as read; it moves it, but doesn't mark it as read).

I did check dragging the window now, and I can. I'll give that a try next time this occurs.

Thanks!
