Apple TV 4K has an Ethernet connector. What needs to be the other end of the line? A router? Or an Ethernet/WIFI dongle? Or how about the Ethernet connector on the back of a TiVo? Or the Ethernet connector on a smart TV? Or what the heck?

Like any computer, Apple TV can have a hard wired ethernet connection for internet. An ethernet cable can be plugged into Apple TV and to a Wi-Fi router, network switch, or straight into a modem.

Thanks; my solution for our setup was to use a new, fast 802.11/ac wireless router (in another room) and hope the internal wireless of the AppleTV will work. If it doesn't, we will re-use our "old" 802.11/n router's Ethernet connection right at the Apple TV box.
