scammer bypassing block, still leaves voicemail
I have blocked a persistent scammer but they are able to leave voice messages without the phone ringing. How do I stop this?

Why would you change your phone number. They should be filtered into a special folder for voice-mail from blocked callers.
If one scammer/telemarketer is enough to get you to change your number, you may as well give up now and go live off grid in the mountains. Robocalls and telemarketing scams now comprise more than 80% of all calls received in the US and that number is only going to go up.

Blocking a caller will simply send them to voice-mail. The only way to prevent that would be to block them at the carrier level.
AT&T's Call Protect app and service (free) can do this. I'm sure other carriers probably offer similar services.
KiltedTim, provider cannot help. They are 3rd party to AT&T. I tried AT's support but they won't talk to a non-customer. Thankd for trying to help. If it continues through the night, I may have to change phone number. 😤
I can deal with the usual robo/scam calls but this one has me stumped. I'm not aware of a special folder for voice mail. Is it on my phone or do I create one? How does that resolve my problem?
BTW the vm's stopped around 8pm. Hoping they don't start up again tomorrow.
Thanks again for your help.
Thanks KiltedTim, I will try your advice. More than 12 voicemails from this scammer since 1:pm today. Fingers crossed, this will help.
