Mbox 2 Mini compatibility with Mojave 10.14.6

Hey!

I'm struggling to get my Mbox 2 Mini working with my Mac.

I've tried installing these drivers:

My Mac Specs:

  • MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2018, Four Thunderbolt 3 Ports) (I'm using an Apple brand Thunderbolt to USB converter)
  • Processor: 2.7 GHz Intel Core i7
  • Memory: 16 GB 2133 MHz LPDDR3
  • Graphics: Intel Iris Plus Graphics 655 1536 MB
  • OS: Mojave 10.14.6

Ultimately, I'd like it to work with the newest version of Logic Pro X, but currently it won't even work as a sound card generally. The green light isn't on, i.e. it's not functioning at all. It still works with my old Mac.

Maybe I need a new sound card? I'd rather not buy one! Any guidance appreciated.

Thanks

Hey there hb13861,

Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities. I understand you’re having issues using your Digidesign Mbox 2 Mini with your MacBook Pro. I’ll be happy to help.

If the light to your device isn’t coming on when you connect them, go through the steps in this link:

If a USB device doesn’t work with Mac

See if this occurs in safe boot or a new user account to isolate and possibly resolve this issue:

Use safe mode to isolate issues with your Mac

How to test an issue in another user account on your Mac

Also, does other audio work on your Mac without issue? If so, and other devices work over USB, then you’ll want to reach out to the manufacturer of the device you’re attempting to use and let them know what’s happening. They may have some steps that can help.

Cheers.
