Which IPad is great for animation?

If its just flat, 2D-type drawing animation, there are plenty of sketching/drawing/paintng programs to create page by page animation cels
There are a handful of decent animation apps that compile the cels into a moving animation.
Some animation apps are cheap to purchase. Some animation apps are very expensive and require a monthly, paid subscription.
If just 2D flat drawing type of animation, an iPad Air 3 or iPad Pro have large enough screens and have sufficient power and RAM to handle this kind of animation just fine.
Get the largest data storage size you can afford as any Apple iDevices have internal storage that IS NOT expandable.
Best of Luck to You!

Don’t think so.
No iPad is going to be good for 3D modeling/rendering/3D modeling-type animation.
No iPad is powerful enough for that kind of animation work!
None.
Also, no good 3D modeling apps for iOS, either.
Conventional 2D drawing animation is a different answer.
Have to agree with MichelPM. An iPad is likely not the best solution for Animation.
You can surely find Apps where you can draw the animation cells, and surely some Apps to put them together into an animated clip, but its hardly a "great" solution depending on what exactly you are looking to accomplish.
And yes, 3D modeling / rendering will likely not be successful on an iPad.
I’m not sure what kind of animation. My daughter who is an artist is looking to go to art college in the next few years or so and wanted something she could practice animation on. She mentioned an IPad but that may not be the best choice. What do you think?
Hello,
You will most likely want an iPad Air (3rd generation) or an iPad Pro for animation production.
What sort of animation? 3D modeling /CGI type animation?
Conventional drawing-type animation?
Its probably not the best choice. But without knowing what type or animation or what requirement she may have its hard to suggest anything.
An iPad Pro would cover the most things.
