GarageBand won't let me save, save as, or export a file. Looks like there may have been an update while I had the app open? Update is for 10.3.4 but it shows I have 10.3.3 installed. Is there anyway *not* to lose the open file?

Have you tried to use the command "Share Export to Disk"? That is the only way I can currently write a mixed project to the disk.
If "Save" and "Save As" are not working, check, if the Finder is responsive or needs restarting.
Are there any error messages by GarageBand in the Console Window?
Are you using GarageBand in Full Screen Mode? Then try to check for more open GarageBand windows by leaving Fullscreen mode, so you can see hidden dialog windows.
Yes, I tried that and Share>Export to Disk isn't working either.
