Microphone issues

I have an iPhone 6 and IPad Pro with up to date software. Mic works when recording videos but will not work on apps like RING, MESSENGER, WHATAPP etc. Normal?

Hello,

Try looking within Settings > Privacy > Microphone that these applications have permission to use the microphone.
